Precedure
1st class:
  • Listening & watching  a quick, simple presentation example on You Tube
  • Class brainstorming about which qualities are needed for such an exercise  Ideas about: introductions, outlines, signalling, the importance of repetition, endings, saying goodbye, question time, communication & contact with the audience etc...
  • Teacher hands out quick subjects to work on e.g. food, the weather, tennis…
  • Students work in pairs to each develop a first, basic presentation on one of the subjects. They practise in front of each other – auto and peer correction without the stress of being in front of the whole class or the teacher.
  • Homework:  Choose a subject based on something they like or know about. Prepare 3 main ideas for a short presentation in the next class. Possibility of bringing in 3 photos or PP slides on a memory stick
2nd class:
  • give their new presentation without slides / photos in small groups of 2 or 3 to warm-up
  • In computer room – sign up into Knovio   -  show how to upload photos/slides
  • Record own presentations with/out video & slides/photos  review & correct
  • Embed the presentation into the class blog
  • Homework – listen to the other students’ presentations

Future work on longer, more complicated presentations / group presentations
